- The desk should be generally manned in case someone needs something.
- Doctors should be in the vicinity of medical, but this is not required.
Engineering
- Engine setup should be done as soon as possible if someone experienced is available.

Security
- General Operations
- Armor and helmets may be worn, but are not mandatory.
- Weapons should be hidden (belt, backpack).
- Warrants are required for searches and arrests for charges above Section SR1XX.
- Search Procedure
- Obtain a Warrant. Unless the alert is Blue/Red.
- Locate the person or move to the location being searched.
- Serve the search warrant by informing the person or people manning the department.
- Search the department.
- Arrest Procedure
- When charging someone with a crime, note it in their records. Some crimes require a warrant. This is waived if said person has committed said crime in a directly witnessed fashion.
- Inform the person over the radio to report to the brig. If they ask why, inform them of the charge. If they do not report to the brig, proceed to find them (If this is a involved process, see SR215 in Ships Regulations)
- On reporting to the brig or capture, take the person to Processing. If this is for a minor offense that is not contraband related, do not search them. In processing, make sure they are aware of their rights and what they are being charged with. Regardless of if they are searched or not, remove any visible means of escape (tools, IDs, etc).
- After processing is completed, brig them for the appropriate length of time.
- Interview Procedure
- When doing an interview, always make sure to record it.
- Locate the person you are going to interview and take them to the interview room.
- Turn the tape recorder on, speak the date, your name, and the name of the person you are interviewing.
- Interview the person by asking questions.
- On conclusion of the interview, eject the tape from the recorder and label it, make sure to print a transcript.
- Brigging Procedure
- After processing the prisoner, make sure the cell is free of potentially harmful items.
- If the prisoner is cooperative and unresistant, you should place them in the communal brig.
- Make sure their timer is set for the appropriate length of time.
- When their timer is up, return their gear and escort them out of the brig.
- Warrants
- Warrants can only be issued by the CoS, XO, or CO.
- Warrants require probable cause - a witness, evidence, etc.
- Warrants should be managed through the Warrant Management program.
- In the case of no XO, CO, or COS is awake, a Brig Chief may authorize warrants. A Brig Chief may also authorize a warrant if given approval by the XO, CO, or COS. Should no brig chief be available, a MA can authorize the warrant.

- On violet, Medical orders are top priority.
- On orange, Engineering orders are top priority.
- On blue, red, and delta, security orders are top priority.
- The cargo shuttle should be unloaded relatively quickly.
- Mining should set out as soon as possible to harvest local resources.
- Salvage of derelicts is encouraged. But make sure they really are derelicts, first!
