A human is an animal with a torso supported by legs, as well as two arms and a head-shaped head. They usually have large, complex brains allowing them to feel depression and anxiety, being the only known species capable of doing so. Humans are highly social beings and tend to live in complex social structures typically built around their favorite sports team. Humans emerged around 300,000 years ago, where they both slayed and layed all other human species out of existence. For most of history, humans chased animals around with sticks, until they learned how to plant seeds in the ground. Somehow, this lead to the discovery of nuclear weapons, which they then used against each other.
Suffice to say, the history of Humanity has been a short but tumultuous one.
Biology
Anatomy & Morphology
Humans are distinctly average in terms of physical stature and appearance when compared to other species within the galaxy, being neither too large nor too small. Consisting of four limbs, a head, and a torso, Human anatomy remains largely the same as it has for the last few millennia with no significant modifications. Humans have a wide variety of skin (pale to dark with varying shades between the two extremes), hair (brown, blonde, black, red and all colors in between), and eye colors (brown, blue, green, grey, with varying shades), typically decided by genetics and various dominant/recessive genomes. Humans vary widely in terms of height and build and are strongly sexually dimorphic with males and females being easily identifiable through stature, build, and secondary sexual characteristics or lack of thereof. Human sexual dimorphism does not extend to their personalities, however.
Intelligence
Humans are sapient and sentient creatures, emerging from the womb with full sentience, and later developing sapience as their brains develop. Humans are known to be creative and flexible individuals with a wide capacity for developing solutions to complex problems, especially when working in a group. Human intelligence typically is most visible within a group context with a strong division of labor, with each individual applying their skillset to a particular task. Humans are additionally known to be very creative, expressing themselves through art and music, and utilizing this innate creativity within problem-solving contexts. While humans have a strong capacity for these tasks, not all humans are equally suited for creative problem solving or feats of intelligence with most individuals being thoroughly average and generally only excelling in specific situations. Humans have a strong capacity for autonomic and willful memory, and typically retain skills learned early in life throughout their entire lifespans.
